Lawyers for Human Rights (LHR), partnering with Ethiopian Lawyers Association (ELA) had prepared a webinar under the title: “Election as Democratic Right” The event was organized with the support of Civil Society Resource Center (CSRC). This specific event brought the most distinguished panellists Rakeb Messele, Sisay Alemahu (PhD), and Yonas Ashene (PhD) to share their thoughts on the subject. The webinar was moderated by Metassebiah Hailu, deputy board chairperson to ELA and member of LHR.
The webinar aimed at creating a discussion platform to explore the impact of COVID-19. Particularly, postponing the 6th general election thereby resulting in a constitutional crisis which has become a subject of contentions in academia, the legal profession and politics.
