Under the Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa(OSIEAA) project, the following activities will implemented in the project period:
-Advocates Training (a five days training, two rounds)
-Strategic Litigation (4 cases for SL)
-Law and Policy monitoring (expert consultation and preparation of opinion briefs or commentaries)
Accordingly, 3 cases of strategic litigation have been identified: Victims of Torture, Qoshe garbage dump collapse, and the Legetafo eviction.LHR organized a half day seminar to briefly discuss the concept of strategic litigation and potential cases for SL.Teams of lawyers were also identified to work on the cases.
